Florida has many nursing programs that can be of great benefit to the nursing profession and prospective students. Due to the vast amount of nursing programs, it can be challenging to choose a program that is right for you.
Florida’s educational system is divided into three sections: 1) public schools, 2) private not for profit schools, and 3) private for profit schools (proprietary schools). All three types of education system offer nursing programs. One of the differences between the types of schools is the cost. It is more economical to attend public schools than private – non-for-profit and for-profit (proprietary schools). If you are planning to attend a private-for profit nursing program the Commission of Independent Education (CIE) urge you to “learning about what you are getting into before you sign any paper work.”
